Rules of good conduct
Surfing is free.
However, a few rules of good conduct should be observed:
- Find out about local regulations (municipal decrees)
Use equipment adapted to your level of practice and in good condition
Respect the bathing and surfing areas
Never surf in stormy weather
Do not assume your abilities and start learning to surf on spots where, keeping water level at your waist
- Never go on a wave if there is someone in front of you (surfer or swimmer)
Respect the priority and user-friendliness rules in order to avoid collisions
Remain courteous and polite in conflict situations.
Provide assistance to people in difficulty

General rental conditions
L’Ecole de Surf de Bretagne – BREST (ESB-BREST) cannot detect the level of surfing of its customers and can in no way be blamed as well as its local partners, in the event of injury, accident or death during the surfing with rental equipment.
Each person surfs under his own responsibility, knowing his level and the possible risks linked to currents, tides, weather, flora and fauna of the environment and the aquatic environment in Brittany.
In the case of equipment rental (board, combination, etc.) without pre-booking of a course or lesson, the client implicitly acknowledges having sufficient technical competence to use only the equipment he has rented. As soon as his equipment is taken into account, the client surfs under his sole responsibility with regard to third parties and the equipment entrusted to him.
In no case can ESB-BREST be held responsible and will not engage its professional civil liability.
ESB-BREST cannot be blamed either, for any reason whatsoever in the event of a dispute arising with the client, concerning breakage, loss or theft of Surfing equipment.
ESB-BREST draws the attention of its customers to the obligation to be properly insured in civil liability and insurance abroad for the practice of surfing.
No reimbursement will be made for reasons related to poor surfing conditions - or even zero - or bad weather.
ESB-BREST may refuse to hire equipment if the sellers / advisers believe that the surf conditions are not favorable for the level detected by the client.
